Laugavegur Trail Trek

Hello, I booked the Laugavegur Trail hike with Einar and Feast in the Wild. I have been wanting to do this hike for a long time and finally decided to book. The draw for me to Feast in the Wild was the group size. With a maximum of 10 people, this is a great experience. I had 5 people in my group, Einar making 6. Einar was able to give each of us personal attention while still managing the group. He was great at balancing his time.
As for the experience, this hike with Feast in the Wild requires a little bit of "buy-in" from each participant. Within each group, with cooperation, you will be putting up and taking down the kitchen tent every day. You will also be putting up and taking down your own tents. Having never had any experience with this, I was a professional by day 2 because Einar showed me what to do. The whole idea of putting up and taking down the tents promotes a team atmosphere and breeds teamwork. It brought us together as a group. The other thing you can expect is helping to prep dinner and cleaning up after. This definitely created a home-type atmosphere. As for the food, you will quickly understand why Einar chose the name "Feast in the Wild." We ate very well. The food definitely exceeded all of our expectations, both in quantity and quality.
The hike itself is beautiful. You travel through several eco climates. You get payoff after payoff as you crest different ridges and valleys. You see waterfalls and deep canyons. Having hiked all over the world, having been to some of the most beautiful places on Earth, this trek rivals them all. It was the most beautiful place I'd ever been. Einar does a great job representing his country. He was very knowledgeable about the nature and history of his country. He will provide story after story and you really feel like you will learn about Iceland.
Einar was a very patient guide as well. He analyzes the group well. He's able to make tough decisions when needed. He was very personable. I will definitely consider returning to hike in Iceland again and most definitely would use Feast in the Wild again.
